| The City of Brentwood operates under a commission-manager form of government. The City Commission is the legislative and policy-making body of the City. It consists of five members elected at-large for four year, staggered terms. The Mayor and Vice-Mayor are appointed by the City Commission for two year terms. Unless otherwise re-scheduled, the City Commission meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Center, 5211 Maryland Way. The City Commission hires the City Manager, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the City with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of city government, as well as implementing polices enacted by the Commission. |
