Town Center

The Franklin Road area between Old Hickory Blvd. and Church Street was the City’s first commercial center due to its location adjacent to the railroad. For decades, this area was the center of business and retail activity for the Brentwood community.

With the construction of Interstate 65 to the east and incorporation of the City in the late 1960s, the focus of commercial development for the rest of the century shifted to the west with development of the Maryland Farms Office Park and to the south in the Moores Lane/Cool Springs area.

Because the original Town Center lies at the northern gateway to Brentwood and is a critical component to the City’s tax base, the City of Brentwood has taken steps to encourage redevelopment of the area as a traditional downtown through changes to the zoning to the zoning code and infrastructure improvements. Redevelopment of the area by the private sector is market driven and will take several years to complete.

Over 100 retail stores and businesses are now present in the Town Center to meet your needs. This brochure has been prepared by the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce to help you locate and explore the area and identify the type of services available to you.
